Where it begins

Your child grows

Every ripple begins with the child in front of us. Trusted learning, meaningful care and growing confidence always come first.

The pledge

Where it started

From one small room to a wider purpose

Tuition Time began in 2014 in a single small room in Huddersfield, with about four students, Our founder made a promise: as the business grew, a share of its success would always go back to people who needed it.

That promise became the Impact Pledge.
More than ten years later, Tuition Time Hub has grown to include tuition, childcare, faith education and adult learning, and the promise to give back has grown with it.

"We do not only want to build successful services.
We want to build successful services that help good travel further."

Local response

Supporting Huddersfield through the pandemic

During the pandemic, the Impact Pledge helped provide food for struggling local families and meals for NHS workers. We worked alongside local organisations to get practical support to people during an exceptionally difficult period.

Local giving

Standing behind local causes

In the pledge's earlier years, we supported local Scouts through a financial donation and helped deliver a community event for Forget Me Not Children's Hospice.

THE PLEDGE AND THE CIC

One shared history, two separate roles

The Hub’s Impact Pledge inspired Give A Little Back CIC, but today they are separate, with their own purposes and finances.

Run by Tuition Time Hub

The Hub's Impact Pledge

Tuition Time Hub’s own giving promise. Since 2014, the Hub has given 20% of its profits to local community projects and global causes. The pledge was originally called the Give a Little Back pledge, and in 2023 it inspired the creation of Give A Little Back CIC, a separate community organisation. Today the CIC has its own identity, directors, funding and accounts, and the pledge does not fund it.

  • Funded entirely from Tuition Time Hub’s own profits

  • Supports local and global causes chosen by the Hub

  • Is not funded by the CIC

INDEPENDENT NOT-FOR-PROFIT

Give A Little Back CIC

A registered Community Interest Company that runs free local programmes for eligible children, young people, women, families and adults across Kirklees. All its funding is used for its community purposes.

  • Community Interest Company with a legal asset lock

  • Funded through grants, partnerships and donations

  • Run by its own board of three directors

  • Separate accounts and annual community interest reports filed at Companies House

Questions about the Hub's Impact Pledge

Learn how the pledge works, where support is directed and how it differs from the CIC

Everything you need to know about our governance, commitments, and collective community standards.

What is The Hub's Impact Pledge?

Tuition Time Hub’s commitment to give at least 20% of profits from its main learning and care services to selected local and global causes.

Does the pledge increase what families pay?

No separate donation is added to a family’s bill. The commitment is made from Tuition Time Hub’s profits.

Is The Hub’s Impact Pledge the same as Give A Little Back CIC?

No. The Hub’s Impact Pledge is Tuition Time Hub’s own promise to give 20% of its profits to local and global causes. Give A Little Back CIC is a separate community interest company with its own directors, funding and accounts. The pledge was originally called the Give a Little Back pledge and inspired the CIC to be set up in 2023, but today they are completely separate, and the pledge does not fund the CIC.

Where does the money go?

It supports selected local family and community work alongside verified humanitarian, educational and welfare causes further afield.

How can I become part of the impact?

There are lots of ways to be part of it. Families take part simply by choosing Tuition Time Hub for tuition, childcare or learning. Every session helps keep the Hub going, and 20% of our profits go on to support people locally and around the world. You can also volunteer your time, join our team as a tutor or staff member, or help spread the word by recommending us to friends and family or leaving a review. However you’re involved, you’re helping the good travel further.

Can I donate to The Hub’s Impact Pledge?

No, we don’t collect donations for the pledge. It’s funded entirely from Tuition Time Hub’s own profits. The best way to support it is to be part of the Hub: learning with us, volunteering, joining our team or recommending us to others. That way, you share in the good it does and the reward that comes with it.
